James L. Derrico, DDS

Education

Dr. James L. Derrico completed his Master of Science studies at Loyola University Graduate School and received his dental degree from Loyola University School of Dentistry. He then went on to complete a one-year hospital-based dental residency at the University of Chicago.

For this discipline, he has participated in over 600 hours of postgraduate education courses and specialized residencies in the field of Sleep Medicine, Sleep Disorders, Temporomandibular Joint Disorders and Craniofacial Pain. In addition, he earned his Qualified Dentist designation from the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine in 2016 and became a Diplomate of the American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine in 2020.

Career

Practicing general dentistry in the western suburbs of Chicago, Illinois, for over 35 years, he helped thousands of patients with their general dental needs. It was during that time that Dr. Derrico was drawn to the field of Dental Sleep Medicine. After he learned about the impact it can have on the quality of life for his patients, he decided to focus exclusively on practicing in this field.

Following his tenure in Chicago, Dr. Derrico relocated to Jackson, Wyoming, and established Teton Sleep Solutions in January, 2021. By nature of a focused practice, Dr. Derrico is able to spend quality time with each patient – getting to know them and understanding their specific medical and associated sleep histories.

Dr. Derrico understands the importance of earning a patient’s trust. He recognizes that mutual trust is essential for a successful doctor/patient relationship. His ability to listen to and understand the concerns of his patients are both integral to his holistic approach to patient care. Dr. Derrico and Deann are committed to ensuring the very best of care and are knowledgeable on the available treatment options that will lead to the best possible outcome. 

Deann Derrico, RDH

Deann Derrico graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Dental Hygiene from Loyola University of Chicago. She has extensive and professional education specifically in the area of Dental Sleep Medicine and understands the clinical implications of obstructive sleep apnea. Her kind nature gives her the ability to empathize with her patients by understanding not only their treatments but their entire patient experience. She is extremely knowledgeable in the processing of major medical and Medicare insurance claims, in addition to navigating through any issues that may arise during the filing of such claims. In fact, she is passionate in helping patients maximize their insurance benefits and is always up for the challenge. She is certified by the Academy of Clinical Sleep Disorders Dentistry as a clinical staff professional.
